Battlefloor at Psyclical Atlantis

My favourite Battlefloor set ever! Dark Prog, deep and moody, with great energy and flow. Excellent intro tune and great mixing. Well done Vinny! All of the DJ’s we booked at Psyclical Atlantis brought their A-game and the music was outstanding :). Thanks to everyone that joined us.

E Clip at Ozora

The sun and the moon have always been perceived as opposites; the sun is the active, rational, masculine and materialistic part of the world which happens during day time, while the moon is the dark, crazy, feminine and mysterious part of the world which occurs during the night time. There is one magical moment when these opposites unite into one incredible phenomenon, which merges the characteristics of these binary entities – Solar Eclipse.

Marko Radovanovic, from Belgrade, Serbia, took the essence of the Solar Eclipse and transformed it into a musical phenomenon that mixes the sun and night aka his alter ego – E-Clip. Along the way, he polished his precision and beat skills while he was playing as a drummer in Hardcore and New Age bands. And as a new star in the celestial sphere of Progressive Trance he absorbed a lot of inspiration from artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, Klaus Shultze and Astral Projection. The big change for Radovanovic was similar to the process of Solar Eclipse; where the moon decides he wants to follow the sun’s fire and hot atmosphere. Radovanovic fell in love with the heat and energy of the other side of the decks of the Psychedelic Trance parties, and made his move. Thus, soon after he entered the psychedelic world in 2002, he started to produce music as well.

His first experiment was under a different more Full-Onish alter ego, named Beyondecliptica, and with it he released his debut album in 2008, ‘Groove technologies’, in the Greek label Medusa. Then Radovanovic realized it was time to undermine nature’s course and bring E-Clip to the world in 2009. Since that moment of creating his unique manifestation, he released music in various labels including: Blue Tunes, Spin Twist, Oxygen, Prog On Syndicate, Yellow Sunshine Explosion. Of course Iono Music spotted his magical influences and joined him to the family. His recent EP – ‘Press Hold’ at Iono that came out in November 2011 is just a taste of the many trips he will make on the orbit of the sun while inviting the moon to join occasionally.

Psynapse at Mozamboogy

“Emotion, positive energy, and rolling baselines” These are some of the elements that come to mind when PsYnapse is behinds the decks. Psychedelic trance music is a way of life for this Durban based DJ, his aim while performing is to take his audience on an enlightening journey through the mind, body and soul. His style is characterized by uplifting, yet fat & funky sounds, layered with psychedelic textures and basslines.

From a young age, music has always been a big part of PsYnapse’s life. At around the age of 11, he got his first taste of electronic dance music. As time went by, the influence of this new found passion in music grew from strength to strength, leading to the beginning of his clubbing days at the tender age of 14. Then, in the year 2000, he got his first proper introduction to true underground music at the legendary 3-30 nightclub, in Durban. At this point, he fell in love with a genre of music that would forever change and shape his musical journey, that being Hard House.

After hearing and enjoying this frantic and energy filled genre, he was inspired by the 3-30 resident “king of hard house”, Sam Boylan, to learn the art of DJing. This began in 2004, and shortly after he purchased his first DJ setup consisting of a pair of Pioneer CDJ 100’s, and from there he never looked back.

Over the years, he honed his skills, then near the end of 2012, he decided to get into a genre that caught his attention on the sly, and very soon after fell in love with it! That being the genre of psychedelic trance. Since moving over to psytrance, his DJing career blossomed like never before, and he has supported huge international acts (sometimes opening for or playing after them) at different gigs all around South Africa. Some of these artists include Materia, DJane Gaby, Champa, Neelix (twice), Morten Granau, Captain Hook, Ace Ventura, Berg (twice), Ranji, Mandragora, Effective, and Interactive Noise.

PsYnapse is a force to be reckoned with on the South African outdoor psychedelic scene, and loves to share his love of music with everybody he comes across.
